Magnetic clasps are a welcome addition to your supply of jewelry findings. These clasps are much easier to secure for anyone with arthritis and other inflammation conditions.[1] Magnetic Clasps are a real favorite among beaders because jewelry is easy to fasten with these type of clasps. They are a little cumbersome to work with as metal pieces can attach to the clasp as you work to attach it.[2] Magnetic clasps are great, but do take care with them; the magnets are really strong. There have ben stories of people erasing removable media (discs and memory sticks) and picing up objects such as beading scissors and needles.[3]

Magnetic Clasps are Great for people who have difficulty using those tiny jewelry clasps. These are the best quality, Italian Made, in which the magnets are crimped in place and wont pop out (unlike the cheap silver plated ones).[4] Magnetic clasps are easier to fasten than other types of clasps, particularly on bracelets. To make a closure more secure, attach a short piece (about 2 in./51mm) of chain to the clasp's loops with jump rings.[5] Magnetic clasps are made of two barrel ends that magnetically stick together. This tends to be a very basic clasp design, as well.[6]

Magnetic clasps are wonderful, and I?m a big fan, but do take care that your magnetic clasp has enough ?pull? I?ve seen some magnetic clasps with weak ?pull?; you definitely don?t want that with this gorgeous piece.[7] Magnetic clasps are very popular for necklaces & bracelets as it is often difficult to fiddle with conventional clasps when putting jewellery on yourself (particularly for those with arthritis). [8] Magnetic clasps are not intended to medically treat individuals with chronic problems in their muscles and joints. As they bear the magnetic forces.[9]

Magnetic clasps are available here as well. [10] Magnetic clasps are simple, and the ones I use are attractive as well. The magnets are disguised as two round, silver-tone beads so the back of the necklace looks just as attractive as the front.[11]

Magnetic Clasps work using magnetic charges

Magnetic clasps can be very user friendly for jewelry wearers with long fingernails, arthritis or those with limited use of their hands or fingers.

Magnetic Clasps work using magnetic charges - opposites attract - the positive charge on one side of the clasp attracts and holds the negative charge on the other side of the clasp. When these clasps work they can be very user friendly for jewelry wearers with long fingernails or have arthritis or other issues causing limited use of their hands or fingers.

This article presents a review of one brand name magnetic clasp: Clever Clasp. Clever Clasp is one of those 'as seen on TV' products that have become available in different retail shops and are used to convert the clasp on existing jewelry to a magnetic clasp. This package of Clever Clasp was purchased in the jewelry department of a Walgreen's Drug Store.

below are comments from buyer who buys this product.........

They are easy to put on and easy to use. Work well for my 82 year old mother-in-law.

This product is awesome! Anybody who has trouble with jewelry clasps will appreciate the ease of putting on bracelets again and necklaces, without asking somebody else to help you do it.

Love this. I'm now actually wearing my necklaces because I can just grab them quickly and put them on in the morning. Wow, am I ever lazy!

This product works as described. It looks nice. It is easy to use. It holds the jewelry safely. It is easy to remove and put on necklaces with small clasps. However, the clasp is heavy and weighted. It seems to creep to the front of your neckline or necklace often and quickly. I find that I am constantly moving the clasp to the back of my neck. This is not a huge issue. However, without noticing it, it can be embrarrassing to have this huge clasp hanging next to your pendant while speaking to someone. It can become irritating to keep moving the clasp to the back of your neck. However, if that is something that will not bother you, this clasp does what it is advertised to do. It does make putting necklaces on much easier. I have worn the same yellow gold clasp on a regular basis and it has not tarnished or left a green mark on my neck so, the plating is good. I have even forgot to take my necklace off when showering and it did not fade the plating. So, overall - the clasp works as advertised, is nice quality but, is heavy and travels on your neck. I still use my clasp and overall would recommend others who need help with clasping jewelry to purchase it.

the bad but still good anyway is

I love the product and have bought several boxes as I can't manage the small hooks any more. But the gold definitely comes off. I would rather have it that way than to do without but it is not pretty.

These are far better than a normal fiddly opening. But to utilise them to the best safety you have to turn the 1/2" magnetic clasp to secure it. If you don't then a quick yank will remove necklace.

It's not hard to do and not as fiddly as an original clasp but I get confused which side I have to hold and which one I have to twiddle.
I get there in the end. If you don't mind it being secure the magnets are quite strong and is very easy putting on and off.

I love the extenders (which would be fiddly for arthritic fingers as it is the same type clasp as a normal opening to initially put on but can be easily used with the magnetic clasp.

good value and I would buy it again, just watch your hair doesn't get caught in it when twisting it to make it secure but then again that's the same for any clasp.

Very strong magnet which is easy to do up and easily strong enough to keep your necklace or bracelet in place unless it's a really heavy piece. Why spend ages fiddling!

Magnetic Necklace Clasp

Using two pair of pliers to open one of the jump rings, slip one end of the chain on the ring along with one side of the magnetic clasp. Then close using the same technique. Repeat this for the other side of the chain and clasp.

Note: Because the clasp is magnetic attaching it is easier said then done. The clasp will keep sticking to your pliers because they are metal, but just keep at it and be patient.

easy to wear magnetic necklace clasp

This necklace is easy to wear as seen in the picture using a magnetic necklace clasp. As it says the clasp that turns knitting or beading into fashion jewelry.

Make a Beaded Necklace with magnetic necklace clasp

How to Make a Beaded Necklace with magnetic necklace clasp

1. Gather your stringing materials. The best kinds are flexible beading wire and beading thread. Look for wire that has 21 or 49 strands of stainless steel wire, coated with nylon. (Strands that only have 7 wires will kink easily.) Beading thread is a great option if you are stringing lightweight beads and it comes in several different colors. Also look for silk cord which comes in a vareity of colors and thicknesses if you will be showing some of the stringing material in the project.
2. Before cutting your thread or wire, determine the length of your necklace and add 4-8", so that you have enough material to connect the clasp to the stringing materials.
3. You will need crimping beads and a special crimping tool (a pair of chain nose pliers can be used in place of a crimping tool). Many beaders prefer sterling silver crimp beads. They bend easier than base metal ones, and grab the wire better, so your clasp stays secure. Crimp beads come in different sizes and can be smooth or printed with a design so be sure to use a size that works with the stringing material.
4. Gather 2 crimp beads, 1 magnetic necklace clasp, and the beads for the desired necklace.
5. Slide a tiny bead (2-4mm) on the threading material, then the crimping bead, then another tiny bead on the stringing material about an inch or so down. Place one end of the clasp (the jump ring) on after the crimp bead, and make a loop with the stringing material. Place the end of the stringing material through the magnetic necklace claspsection and then the bead-crimp-bead combo and use the crimping tool/ chain nose pliers to crimp the bead in place. (If using bead thread, you may wish to put a dot of super glue of hypo cemement on either end to ensure that the beads and crimp stay on.) These steps will protect the stringing material from rubbing on the ends of the crimp bead, which may cause the necklace to break.
6. Choose your beads and lay out your design before stringing; using a beading board can be beneficial allowing the design to be laid out and measured before stringing. When you are satisfied, string them onto your necklace. Be sure to leave about 3-4 inches of stringing material at the end.
7. Do the same thing as in step 3: use a clasp section/ jump ring and the bead-crimp-bead combo and try to push the remaining stringing material into the bead holes below the crimp bead.
8. Be careful not to pull the stringing material too tight. Leave a small amount of slack in the necklace (2-4 mm or 1/4"). This leaves room for the beads to move and rotate, so they don't rub on each other or the stringing material too much. If the stringing material is too tight the necklace will be rigid and this can make the design look angular instead of slightly rounded like a necklace should be.
9. Crimp the second end and cut the stringing material with slush cutters. It is not recommended that you cut the wire too close to the crimp bead. An inch of wire, carefully hidden in the bead holes is good insurance against breakage.

lastly, don't forget to use magnetic necklace clasp for easy wearing your beautiful home made necklace.

magnetic necklace clasp - How to Select Jewelry Wholesale

How to Select Jewelry Wholesale (magnetic necklace clasp)

Selecting necklace isn’t hard, when you can see it and touch it. However when you purchase jewelry or necklace clasp wholesale, you often won’t have this opportunity before making a purchase, since most of these purchases are made online or through mail order. This makes the selection process a bit harder.

Start by reading all of the information that is supplied. Make sure that words like ‘gold plated’ or ‘faux’ are not used if you are looking for genuine pieces. Contact the company and ask for more information if you are unsure about anything that you are reading as well. Make sure you are getting wholesale prices. Look for similar pieces at the online jewelry stores, or even at your local jewelry stores, and compare the prices. The wholesale price should be much lower.

Also check the refund and exchange policy of the business you are planning to purchase from. Make sure that there is a ‘no questions asked’ money back guarantee, or the offer of a 100% refund if you are not satisfied. If there is no refund policy, there should be no deal! You can find other jewelry wholesale from companies that do offer refunds and exchanges.
